Attention youth ages 16-24! Are you looking for work and finding that most places are choosing applicants with prior work experience? These days, it can even be tough finding a so-called entry level job that doesn’t ask for some kind of experience. Thankfully, the YWCA is offering their Youth Opportunity Program to young adults interested in jump-starting their careers.
This program offers 18 hours of job-readiness training including customer service skills and barista training in addition to a certificate upon completion. With that certificate, participants are then invited to a recruitment fair where they may interview with employers in the hospitality and retail industries. Finally, applicants are also awarded one quarter college-level credit that can then be applied towards a future degree or certificate. The best part? This program is offered by the YWCA for FREE!
If you are interested in applying or know anyone else who might be, please contact YWCA at (206) 336-6983 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. The next cohort will begin training on February 3rd at Starbucks in White Center, 98146. For more information please refer to the flyer included below.
