Lazarus Center Moves, Opens Shelter on Site

Catholic Community Services’ Lazarus Day Center has moved from its long time location on 2nd Ave to a new building at 2329 Rainier Ave S, south of College St, in the Rainier Valley. The day center continues to provide services such as a temporary mailing address, breakfast and lunch, shower and laundry, clothing, housing case management as well as a library and computer room for homeless and marginally housed adults ages 50 and older.

The day center continues to provide intake onsite for those seeking shelter at St. Martin de Porres, a shelter for men ages 50 and older. However, it now also has its own shelter onsite for people of all genders ages 50 and older. Intake for the 48-bed shelter begins at 6pm; first-come, first-served for those who did not stay there the previous night. The shelter is open nightly from 6:30pm-7am, and dinner is provided.
